MOTIONS TO VARY, REVIEWS AND RETROACTIVITY

This event features Chair, Justice Alex Finlayson, with speakers, Cheryl Goldhart, Goldhart & Associates, and Nicole Tellier, Senior Family Law.

This program will provide an essential overview and discussion of motions to vary and the general principles of claims for retroactive support. Threshold requirements will be discussed as well as the scope of a variation inquiry. Learn about the impact of re-partnering, fluctuations in post-separation income and retirement on support claims. There will be a discussion of the use of SSAGs in motions to vary. Learn what is a “review” and when should it be used and when you can seek retroactive support. As well as best practices in all cases.
