    The 14th Annual Family Law Summit (originally set to occur on March 26th-27th, 2020 prior to the implementation of COVID-19 restrictions) has been rescheduled! The program will now take place via webcast only on Thursday, October 1st, 2020 from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

    Raising and Addressing Anti-Black Racism in Child Protection Matters

    This program features Chair, Justice William Sullivan, and speakers, Justice Donald McLeod, Ms Kike Ojo-Thompson (Principal Consultant, Kojo Institute), and Ms Angela Carter (Executive Director, Roots Community Services Inc.)

    This panel of experts will address anti-Black racism and the overrepresentation of African Canadian children in the child welfare system. The panel will discuss the use of historical and current systemic racism and barriers in decision-making and advocacy; legal and social science tools for advocacy; tools for addressing issues with clients; expert and community resources.

    This program has been approved as an Accredited Provider of Professionalism and Equity, Diversity and Inclusion credits by the Law Society of Ontario. It contains 1.5 EDI Professionalism hours.
