FLSP Licence

On February 24, 2022, Convocation will be considering the LSO’s Access to Justice Committee’s Report on a Family Legal Services Provider (FLSP) licence to allow paralegals to provide certain services in family law. You can read the text of the report here: https://lso.ca/about-lso/initiatives/family-law-action-plan/flsp-report

The FLA has authored a joint communique together with the Advocates Society and the Federation of Ontario Lawyers detailing our serious concerns that the proposed FLSP licence is not in the public interest and will not serve the critical legal needs of vulnerable individuals who are involved in family law proceedings.

We encourage you to contact the Benchers to express your concerns with the proposed FLSP licence, as well as to share this joint communique widely with your networks, including non family law lawyers.
