    WHEN FAMILY AND IMMIGRATION ISSUES INTERSECT: How to Effectively Advocate for Your Client

    As counsel, what do you do when immigration issues arise in the context of family and child protection cases? This program has the answers! Our panel of experts will discuss key developments in the intersection of family, immigration and refugee law, in particular, the intersection of immigration and refugee law with both Hague and non-Hague cases and child protection cases. Recent appellate and first instance decisions will be addressed. Materials and resources for counsel will also be provided.

    Join our panel on Zoom for a lively educational session that challenges your legal knowledge about retroactive child support. The following issues will be explored:

    • Top 10 tips for arguing retroactive child support cases
    • Key considerations in retroactive child support matters:
    1. How far back to go for support? Is there still a “3 year rule”?

    3. Has Hardship changed?
    4. What does imputed income mean on a motion to change?
