CLIENT MANAGEMENT: COVER YOUR ADVOCACY

(WHAT THEY DIDN’T TEACH YOU IN LAW SCHOOL)

Where:   311 Jarvis Street

When:      Monday, December 5, 2016

From:       4:45 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Managing your clients in family and child welfare practice is one of the most challenging areas of your practice. How do you protect your client and yourself?

  • In child protection law, how do you reconcile your management of client expectations with your role as his or her advocate before the Court?
  • What can you as a lawyer do to assist the client to “get to a deal”?  How do you help your client understand the other side’s perspective without giving the client the impression that you are “not on her side”?
  • What are the chief areas of complaint against family lawyers and how can lawyers (a) avoid these or (b) make them go away?

Materials will be provided.  Don’t miss this opportunity to share in this important discussion. Program will be credited for professionalism hours by LSUC.
