The Advocates’ Society presents:

Family Litigation on a Shoestring Budget

Join your fellow members of the Family Law Practice Group at this laid-back wine and cheese fireside chat and reception to discuss a topic that really matters – how to advance your client’s case when funding is limited. Hear from the perspectives of an experienced judge, arbitrator/mediator, and family law practitioner, on how they each approach the challenge, and their lessons learned.

Topics include:

  • Determining the best use of a client’s budget
  • The implications of Legal Aid Ontario cuts
  • Working with limited scope retainers
  • Using expert reports when funding is limited (and interim disbursements are not available)

When: February 5th, 2020 from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM

Where: The Advocates’ Society, 2700-250 Yonge Street

This program has been accredited for 0.5 Professionalism and 0.5 Substantive Hours towards total CPD Requirements.
