When a client comes into your office asking for assistance in resolving a family law dispute, you should be thinking about the rules of evidence. Why? Because the rules determine the admissibility of evidence and if you cannot get your client’s version of events before the Court, you cannot get your client the result he or she desires.

This session will cover a range of familiar – but still difficult – evidence issues that come up in family law, including: hearsay, opinion, privilege, credibility and witness examination. Short factual “snappers” will be used to pose questions and there might even be some “answers” (yes, there sometimes are answers in the law of evidence). Helpful recent cases will be identified.

You can never know enough about the law of evidence.
